Police: Non-custodial father took 4 children to Colorado, refuses to return

SALEM, N.H. — Police in Salem, New Hampshire are asking for helping tracking down a 30-year-old man who allegedly drove across the country with his four children who were supposed to be in their mother’s custody.

The mother called police on Sept. 11 to report that her ex-husband, Matthew Giovanditto, had apparently driven to Colorado with their four children.

The mother had been granted custody of the children by a court, but had allowed Giovanditto to take them for a short time while she got situated.

Giovanditto had a last known address in Taunton, Mass., but is believed to be staying with the children in campgrounds and parking lots in the Denver / Colorado Springs area. Police said he is refusing to bring them back to New Hampshire.

Police said Giovanditto is driving a 2015 white Chevrolet Traverse with New Hampshire disabled veteran license plate 2559. He is also believed to be towing a white popup Jayco Eagle camper with New Hampshire license plate T400759.

The children are a 9-year-old male. 8-year-old male, 5-year-old male and 3-year-old female.
