Police: NH man steals car, rams cruiser

SALEM, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in Salem N.H. said a man was arrested after stealing a car and ramming a police cruiser with it.

Police said 23-year-old Anthony Monbleau took the vehicle from a parking lot in Salem. Police began chasing Monbleau, but broke off the pursuit when it became too dangerous.

Officers later saw Monbleau on N. Policy Street driving recklessly and forcing other cars off the road. Police said he tried to hit an officer who was deploying stop sticks but the officer was able to jump out of the way.

Police said Monbleau eventually pulled into the parking lot at a Heavenly Donuts and rammed a cruiser that was blocking his escape. He then began fighting with officers and was stunned with a stun gun before being taken into custody.

One officer was taken to a hospital with cuts to his arm and other injuries from being rammed.

Monbleau was charged with two counts of resisting arrest, theft by unauthorized taking, disobeying a police officer, driving after revocation, possession of heroin and transportation of heroin.

He was held on a probation detainer and $75,000 bail.
