Police need 'quality' tips in search for Vanessa Marcotte's killer

BOSTON — The search for a young woman's killer is in need of "quality" tips, Massachusetts State Police say.

Vanessa Marcotte, 26, was found murdered in the woods near Princeton, Mass. after going for a job in August.

Police say their only clues to finding her killer are that her killer was a man who may have had in the days following Aug. 7 and may drive a dark-colored SUV. Police say it's also likely he has some knowledge of the area.

Tips have steadily poured in to a special tip line since the murder, but their aren't quite as many these.

Police say that is expected and what they need now are "quality" tips.

"We are thinking quality, not quantity, at this point, and detectives are working diligently on every piece of information," a spokesperson told FOX25.
