Police: MBTA bus evacuated after man seen putting object underneath it

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – An MBTA bus was evacuated on Huntington Avenue in Boston after several passengers reported seeing a man putting an object underneath the bus.

Police said the bus had stopped to let passengers off at about 9:20 a.m. when a passenger appeared to put a small black object under the bus. The bus driver told all passengers to evacuate and called police.

Police set up a perimeter and used mirrors, dogs and a heavy duty wrecker to check for the object. The bus was eventually towed from the scene.

After the bus was removed, officials said there was nothing hazardous under it.

Police said the passenger, identified as Amar A. Ibrahim, was arrested for interfering with public transportation and disorderly conduct.
