Police: Man stabbed 9 times outside Bridgewater bar

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – An Abington man was stabbed nine times in the neck, abdomen, and back outside a bar on Broad Street in Bridgewater early Sunday morning.

Police responded to the Broad Street Pub located at 39 Broad St. at about 12:48 a.m. for a reported stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers located the victim, 21-year-old Jacob Klapman, and began administering first aid. He was transported to South Shore Hospital with serious injuries.

Witnesses gave police a description of a car and a suspect in connection with the attack. Shortly thereafter, police say they spotted the car in question and conducted a traffic stop.

Police arrested three Brockton men in connection with the attack: 22-year-old James Chalmers, 23-year-old Jason Hodo, and 44-year-old Nicholas Hodo.

All three men have been charged with aggravated assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and attempted murder. They will be arraigned Monday morning.

Police believe the stabbing may have been gang related.
