Police: Man shot and killed after pulling knives on officers

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – A man suspected in an instance of domestic violence was shot and killed by police in the South End neighborhood of Boston Saturday.

At about 3:09 p.m., police responded to Lenox Street for the report of a woman being assaulted by her boyfriend.

When police officers tried to place the suspect under arrest, he armed himself with multiple knives and lunged at the officers causing one to open fire, a police official said. The suspect was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Boston Police Firearms Investigation Team and the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office are investigating.

The name of the suspect has not been released yet.
