Police: Man robbed woman at knifepoint in Fairhaven

FAIRHAVEN, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in Fairhaven are searching for a male suspect who reportedly robbed a woman as she was walking to the bank to deposit money from her place of employment.

Police say the armed robbery occurred at the Alden Road entrance to the Shaw's Supermarket plaza at about 9:45 a.m. Tuesday.

The victim told police she was robbed of a moneybag by a man who claimed to have a knife. He then fled westbound on foot towards the K-Mart plaza, and she ran back to her place of employment and called police.

Police searched the area in cars and on foot to no avail.

The suspect is described as an unshaven white male in his thirties with short brown hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
