Police: Man broke into couple's boat, drank beer, ate cake

BOSTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A couple who docked their boat off Commercial Street Saturday returned just after midnight Sunday to find an uninvited guest eating their food, drinking their liquor, and wearing the boat owner's Rolex.

The man and woman found the door to their boat broken and ajar. Inside, they allegedly found a man sitting on a couch, eating cake, smoking a cigar near a coffee table littered with beer cans. The man, identified as 36-year-old Eric Pfaltzgraff, was also wearing a Rolex identified as belonging to the boat owner, which he later returned.

When he was confronted about being in the boat illegally, Pfaltzgraff allegedly said that he owned the boats and had receipts to prove it. He also claimed to work for the Boston Police Harbor Patrol and showed a "Special Police" badge and baton that police took into evidence.

Pfaltzgraff, who has no fixed address, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony, larceny over $250, and impersonating a police officer. He was in court Monday, where a judge imposed a $5,000 bail and ordered him held on a three-week mental health evaluation at Bridgewater State Hospital.

He will return to court April 28.
