Police: Man arrested after trying to firebomb restaurant

HYANNIS, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Barnstable police say a Brazilian national was arrested after trying to burn a restaurant down.

Police said security cameras at the Prova Brazil restaurant on Main Street in Hyannis captured Lucas Penna riding up to the restaurant on a moped. Police said Penna then pulled a bottle from his backpack, tried to light it and threw it at the building.

Police said after the bottle did not ignite, Penna picked up a brick and threw it through a window.

Penna was arrested by an officer on Main Street a short time later. He was charged with willful injury to a building, possession of a Molotov cocktail and attempt to burn.

Police said Penna is a Brazilian citizen in the United States on a visa. He was held without bail and will be arraigned Dec. 31.
