WILMINGTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A 27-year-old man was taken to a Boston hospital via medical helicopter following a crash that occurred on Woburn Street in Wilmington Sunday morning.
Officers responded to the crash in the area of 587 Woburn St. at about 10 a.m. for a one-car crash. The driver's car had struck several trees and a pole, police said.
According to police, crews had to work to remove the driver who was struck inside the vehicle. Once freed, he was taken to Boston Medical Center via medical helicopter.
The driver will be summonsed for several charges, including operating while under the influence of alcohol, a marked lanes violation, speeding, failure to wear a seat belt, and negligent operation.
