Police: Male suspect in van offered ride to Webster student

WEBSTER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in Webster are searching for a male suspect who allegedly approached a child who was walking home from school and offered him a ride before driving off.

Police said the incident occurred on Lyndale Street at about 11:28 a.m. Monday.

The juvenile told police he was walking home after being dismissed from school when a man in a white van pulled up and asked him twice if he wanted a ride home before driving down Elm Street.

The suspect allegedly left after the juvenile threatened to call police.

Another similar involving a white minivan speaking to three girls occurred later on that evening; however, the incident was not reported for two hours, was called in by a third party, and could not be corroborated.

The suspect is described as a white male between 40-and 50-years-old. He has dirty blonde hair and weighs between 200 and 300 pounds. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a white T-shirt and a black winter hat.

The van is described as a white, work-style van with no windows. It possibly has a blue license plate.
