Police make arrest in Chelsea double slaying

Updated:

CHELSEA, Mass. (AP) — Police have made an arrest in connection with the shooting deaths of two people found dead inside a livery vehicle found resting against a building in Chelsea earlier this month.

A spokesman for the Suffolk district attorney's office says 28-year-old Maurice Morrison of Chelsea was arrested on Wednesday night in connection with the May 13 slayings.

Authorities identified the victims as 52-year-old Zouaoui Dani-Elkebir and 38-year-old Karima El-Hakim.

Authorities say the investigation remains active but they have developed evidence that Morrison had a prior conflict with the female victim, El-Hakim.

Morrison is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Chelsea District Court. It was not clear if he had a lawyer.
