Police make arrest after finding 202 bags of heroin in vehicle

HOLYOKE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A 23 year old Vermont male was arrested after police allegedly found 202 bags of heroin in his car.

As the result of a motor vehicle stop in Holyoke on Jan. 8, a Vermont male was arrested on drug charges and two passengers were given violations after police searched the car and found several wax coated bags full of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. There were about 202 of the wax coated bags in the car, each containing a powdery substance believed to be heroin, police say.

The operator of the vehicle, Deven Moffitt, 23, of Bennington, Vt. was arrested on charges of being present where heroin is kept, conspiracy to violate the drug law and possession to distribute a class A drug. He was also issued motor vehicle citations for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, equipment violation and crosswalk violation.

The two passengers in the vehicle, Kristen Gables, 21, and Cheri Lizotte, 20, both from Vt. were issued criminal violations for possession to distribute a class A drug, heroin; knowingly being present where heroin was kept; and conspiracy to violate the drug law.
