Sex offender accused of home invasion, sexual assault in South End

BOSTON — A man was arrested Wednesday morning in connection to a home invasion and sexual assault in Boston's South End.

Prosecutors say 52-year-old Ronald Brown, a level three sex offender, is the man who broke into an apartment near the intersection of Columbus and Clarendon in the South End at around 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Two women live in the apartment and told police Brown climbed through a rear window, tied them up and sexually assaulted them.

According to the court paperwork, one of the women says brown bound her hands and feet together, blindfolded her and gagged her mouth.

Brown was arrested early Wednesday morning after investigators said they found a prescription medication bottle with his name on it  in the bedroom of one of the victims.

According to the sex offender registry, Brown's first sexual assault conviction was in 1986. Since then, he's also faced charges of assault with a dangerous weapon in 2009, assault on a corrections officer in 2010, and jury intimidation in 2011. Those were just the cases FOX25 found at Worcester Superior Court.

FOX25 also found several cases out of Clinton District Court, including failure to register as a sex offender.

Brown was released from prison in May of this year. He had been living at Boston's Pine Street Inn shelter.

He's now in jail without bail, charged with rape, home invasion and kidnapping.
