REVERE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) â Police are investigating a double shooting in Revere Saturday.
After a preliminary investigation, police say a 21-year-old man was involved in a fight at a house party on Oak Tree Lane overnight. The man was kicked out of the gathering and returned with his 50-year-old stepfather and a female relative, police say.
Both men allegedly hit the home with rocks and baseball bats, causing the 77-year-old owner, Robert Distefano, to take a deceased family member's handgun outside. Both men approached Distefano and he allegedly fired the gun.
The 21-year-old suffered critical injuries and is undergoing surgery at a Boston hospital. The 50-year-old was shot in his back and arm, but his injuries were not life-threatening.
Distefano was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm within a home, but was not charged with anything related to the actual shooting. He is due in court Monday for an arraignment.
