Nashua home where 15-month-old died was unlicensed daycare, police say

NASHUA, NH — An investigation is underway into the death of a 15-month-old boy found unresponsive at a Nashua home, and police said the people living there were running a daycare without a license.

Someone called 911 from inside the Ash Street home on Wednesday afternoon, and first responders performed CPR on the boy when they arrived and discovered he wasn’t breathing.

“My wife and my daughter upstairs saw them take out a toddler,” neighbor Wayne Andrews said. “From what my daughter said, there was a lifeless child. I believe they tried CPR.”

The unidentified boy was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police said there were several other children inside the home, and they determined it was operating as an unlicensed daycare.

The family of the boy did not live at the home, police said.

All of the children inside the home at the time were cleared medically and then released to their parents.

Police said the boy’s death doesn’t appear to be suspicious and he had no signs of trauma, but they are still investigating.
