Police investigating after man exposes himself on Amesbury Riverwalk

AMESBURY, Mass. -- Police are investigating after a man allegedly exposed himself to two teenage girls walking on the Amesbury Riverwalk Wednesday afternoon.

"Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone," Amesbury Police Chief William Scholtz told Boston 25 News.

The suspect is described as a white man, in his early to mid-20s, with short hair and in good shape. He was last seen wearing a blue/gray quarter-zip shirt, gray shorts, a dark red baseball cap with an insignia and black sunglasses. He was carrying a small black and white dog.

“I felt bad. Those girls were only about 75 yards ahead of me and my friend and I didn’t see the creep they saw,” said Kristen Doringer. “If I had been able to see what the girls were reacting to, I would’ve chased the guy off or something.”

The Amesbury Riverwalk is a 1.3 mile paved path that’s popular with families, walkers and joggers.
