Police investigate two deaths at Roslindale housing complex

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com/AP) – Police are investigating whether the deaths of two men and the serious illness of a woman at housing complex for the elderly and disabled may have been caused by something they recently consumed.

Officials say the bodies were discovered in the Boston Housing Authority complex at 1 Cliffmont Street.

One man was found dead Wednesday night, and the second was found Thursday morning. The woman was found seriously ill after a well-being check of her apartment Thursday morning. Authorities said the three, all in their 50s, were friends.

Boston Police Superintendent Daniel Linskysaid on Thursday that the victims had similar symptoms and tests are being done to see if they ingested something toxic. Linsky said the woman was able to speak when she was taken to a hospital.

According to the Boston Housing Authority, the building, known as Roslyn Apartments, is just off of Hyde Park Avenue. It has 119 units in a six-story building. Each unit is equipped with a carbon monoxide detector, but none of them had gone off.

Counseling is being offered to tenants. Authorities said that other tenants aren't in danger.

Officials are awaiting autopsy results.
