1 arrested after murder in Brockton home

BROCKTON, Mass. — Police are investigating a homicide on Menlo Street that happened Tuesday morning.

A woman called police around 1 a.m. Tuesday to report that her boyfriend, Michael Pircio, had struck her neighbor, 29-year-old William James Porter, in the head with an object. According to the Brockton Enterprise, the woman told police that Porter had been trying to rape her.

When officers arrived on scene, Porter, who lives at the home on Menlo Street, was unconscious and bleeding. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Pircio was charged with murder and is expected to be arraigned Tuesday.
