Police investigate attempted robbery of UNH student

DURHAM, N.H. (AP) - Police say a University of New Hampshire student says she was assaulted by two men who tried to take her wallet.

Police said the woman was near Rudman Hall on Academic Way at about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday when the men grabbed her. They said she fought off the attackers, striking one suspect in the face.

University police officers and campus service officers were increasing their patrols of the area and offered to provide safety escorts.
