Police in Hingham investigate suspicious incident involving teen jogger

HINGHAM, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Police in Hingham are investigating a suspicious incident in which a 13-year-old jogger was reportedly approached by a male driver.

Hingham officials say the 13-year-old called 911 on Wednesday night to report that a man in a van drove up beside her while she was jogging on Wanders Drive, opened his driver's side door, and attempted to grab her. The teen says the man did not stop the van or attempt to speak to her.

The girl described the man as white, between 35 and 40 years go age, wearing a black North Face jacket and blue jeans. She says he was driving a tan or "yellowish" minivan.

There have been no other reports of a similar nature reported to Hingham police at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Robert Mansfield at 781-749-1212.
