• Police in Fitchburg search for dangerous shooting suspect


    FITCHBURG, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in Fitchburg are searching for a male suspect allegedly involved in a shooting that occurred on Marshall Street Monday.

    Juan Roman Irizarry, 30, whose last known address is 48 Marshall St., is accused of shooting at a man in the area of 84 Marshall Street at about 8:58 a.m. As a result, police ordered a lockdown at two schools in the area.

    Police believe the intended target was a man who has had previous contact with Irizarry.

    A warrant for Irizarry has been issued by the Fitchburg District Court for discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, firearm in commission of a felony, possession, and malicious destruction of property.

    Irizarry is described as a Caucasian-Hispanic male, approximately 5'6" and 165 pounds. He is possibly driving a grey Subaru Legacy station wagon.

    Police say he may be staying in the Marshall Street or Boylston Street area.

    Anyone who sees Irizarry is asked to call 911. Do not approach the suspect because he is believed to be armed and dangerous.
