Police in Chatham attempt to track down suspected 'shark thief'

CHATHAM, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in Chatham are asking for the public's assistance tracking down a shark thief.

Police say a male suspect seen in surveillance photos stole shark "artwork" from the lawn of the Eldredge Public Library on July 7.

The shark art taken from the library has since been found; however, another small shark which was stolen from the Blue Coral Restaurant has not been recovered.

The community displays these sharks as a way to show visitors that the area is indeed a safe place to visit. It is sponsored by the Chatham Merchants Association.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Chatham Police Dept. at 508-945-8847.
