Police in Brockton investigate 'fake bomb' incidents

BROCKTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in Brockton are investigating two incidents in which suspicious devices, which were later determined to be fake bombs, were found in the city.

According to the Brockton Enterprise, the incidents occurred within 24 hours of each other. The first reported sighting occurred near the Howard Street bridge Friday.

The second incident occurred at about 7 a.m. Saturday. Police received a call that a device had been found in the middle of Albion Street.

Authorities said both devices resembled pipe bombs and appeared to be a length of pipe with caps on each end, reports the newspaper.

No one was injured in either incident, and both were deemed hoaxes, police said.

No arrests have been made in connection with the investigation.
