Police identify three women fatally shot in Dorchester

Boston police have identified the three women fatally shot in Dorchester Sunday.

Police said Genevieve Philip, 22, of Milton; Kirsten Lartey, 22, of Hyde Park; and Sharrice Perkins, 22, of Dorchester were all shot in the area of 36 Harlem Street at about 9:22 p.m. Another woman suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. She was expected to survive.

The four women were shot while sitting in a parked car, police said. One died at the scene and another died at Boston Medical Center following the shooting. A third victim died at the hospital on Monday.

On Tuesday Lartey's father said she was heading out for some fun with the other girls, her high school classmates, when the shooting occurred. He said his daughter typically didn't leave the house and spent her time helping at his church.

Officials said there was no indication the shooting was random.

The shooting capped off a weekend of violence across the city. Mayor Thomas Menino and Police Commissioner Ed Davis said officers were still investigating a Sunday morning shooting in Roslindale that killed one man and injured three others.
