Police find marijuana plants growing in Carver

CARVER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Police shut down an illegal marijuana operation found in a wooded area on the town line of Plympton and Carver.

Police from Plympton and Carver began investigating after receiving a tip about marijuana being grown near an abandoned industrial area off Montello Street.

While conducting surveillance in the area, investigators say they found several large marijuana plants in various stages of maturity. The value of the plants is estimated to be $10,000.

The discovery remains under investigation by Carver and Plympton police, as well as the Plymouth County Sheriff's department. If suspects are identified, they could face charges that include unlawful cultivation of a controlled substance.
