CHATHAM, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – The Chatham Police Department filed criminal charges against the driver of a deadly crash during a dangerousness hearing Wednesday.
Benjamin Shealey is accused of fatally striking a pedestrian and another car containing four occupants in front of the Kream N' Kone ice cream shop in Chatham Saturday night
The charges against Shealey included speeding and operating under the influence.
According to police, Shealey hit 62-year-old Albert Dellamalva as he waited at a bus stop near the ice cream shop. Shealey then allegedly slammed into several other cars.
Police had been following Shealey from Harwich after receiving complaints of reckless driving.
Shealey has pleaded not guilty.
