CHELSEA, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Two Chelsea men have been arrested in connection with multiple "tagging" incidents within the city.
Following an investigation, officers arrested 21-year-old Louis Martinez and 22-year-old Wenlher Silva. Both men are facing multiple counts of "tagging" city property.
City officials first began noticing crosswalks being tagged with the graffiti "tag" of "INCDNT" in early September.
One of the suspects told police the graffiti was part of a "gorilla media campaign" to market a new clothing line they had just launched. The same suspect told police they focused on crosswalks because of heavy foot traffic by young people.
Police in Chelsea are working with the Boston Police Department on this investigation as the City of Boston has reported similar incidents.
Anyone with information regarding "tagging" and graffiti incidents in Chelsea is asked to contact the police department at 617-466-4662.
