Police: Blackstone teen dies after fight at Worcester party

WORCESTER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A Worcester teen has been charged in connection with the death of an 18-year-old Blackstone man who died following a party at the Crestwood Arms early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to 121 Bailey Road at about 4:45 a.m. for a report of an injured person.

When officers arrived, the victim, who was identified Monday as Robert Walker, was unresponsive and not breathing. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 5:41 a.m.

Following an investigation, officers learned Walker was at a party inside one of the apartments when he got into a fight with another party-goer. The argument continued as Walker exited the apartment and a physical altercation ensued.

During the fight, Walker was allegedly struck with a bottle and then ran off. He was later found by friends on the property of the complex.

Police have identified the other man involved in the fight as 18-year-old Michael Ventura. Ventura has been charged with aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon that caused serious bodily injury.

The Medical Examiner's Office will be conducting an autopsy to determine Walker's cause of death.

An investigation is ongoing.
