Police arrest man for dragging woman through parking lot during robbery

SEABROOK, N.H. — Seabrook Police announced the man who had been wanted for dragging a woman across a Market Basket parking lot with his car while he robbed her was arrested on Tuesday.

The man, identified as Freddy Poisson, was taken into custody by the Amesbury Police Department on Tuesday.

Poisson was wanted by the Seabrook Police for robbery, reckless conduct and simple assault for the Market Basket parking lot incident on Friday, January 12.

He is being held as a fugitive from justice and is scheduled to appear at the Newburyport District Court on Wednesday, January 17. He will then be transported back to New Hampshire, where he'll be arraigned at the Rockingham County Superior Court in Brentwood.

Police say that the arrest was made thanks to public help in identifying the suspect as well as the efforts of the Amesbury, Haverhill and Lawrence and Plaistow Police Departments which assisted in the search to locate Poisson.
