Police: Announcement expected in Bedford home invasion

BEDFORD, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Authorities investigating a home invasion that occurred at a prominent anesthesiologist's Bedford home in November are expected to make an announcement in the next couple of days regarding developments in the case.

The Bedford Police Department, New Hampshire State Police detectives, FBI agents, and the New Hampshire Fish and Game jointly searched two locations, including two ponds, in Amherst and Milford, N.H.

Authorities said they had wanted to search the ponds earlier, but couldn't due to the weather.

Bedford Police Chief John J. Bryfonski would not comment on what was found during the search, but confirmed that significant progress has been made and further developments are expected in the coming days and weeks.

"We did face some number of weeks of frustrating investigative work, but there have been developments. We have capitalized on those developments, and I am pleased," Chief Bryfonski said.

Police responded to 7 Proclamation Court on Nov. 24, 2012 and found Dr. Quesada, a prominent anesthesiologist, suffering from life-threatening injuries. Sonia Quesada was also injured during the alleged home invasion, but not as severely as her husband.

On Jan. 7, 2013, police responded to a relative's home and found Sonia Quesada dead and Dr. Quesada unconscious nearby.

Police said they found a large amount of prescription drugs in the home.

An autopsy was performed on Sonia Quesada, but the results have not been made public.

Investigators have said the home invasion and death were not connected.

FOX 25 has learned that Dr. Quesada has hired an attorney.
