Plymouth nuclear plant returns to service

PLYMOUTH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Plymouth's nuclear power plant returned to service Sunday night one week after being taken offline.

Pilgrim Station operators reconnected to the New England electric transmission grid after personnel made a repair to a "small steam leak" associated with the feed water system.

Officials at the plant say they were also able to perform other maintenance that cannot be done while the plant is operating.

The plant was manually taken offline Sept. 8.
