Plymouth man charged with kidnapping, assault

MASHPEE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A Plymouth man was arrested Wednesday after investigators accused him of holding a woman against her will at a home in Mashpee.

Lee Reilly, 42, was arraigned Friday on charges that include kidnapping, assault and battery, and witness intimidation.

Mashpee police were called to a home on Ned Besse Road Wednesday by a woman who said she was being held inside an upstairs bedroom. When police arrived, they could see a man sitting downstairs and the woman in an upstairs bedroom. The woman was covering her mouth as she quietly spoke into the phone with the dispatcher who stayed on the line with her until police arrived.

Reilly was removed from the home as police conducted a welfare check on the woman. She told police Reilly locked her in the basement for several hours after she attempted to leave the residence Tuesday.

The woman told police she explained to Reilly that she wanted to move back to her home which is out of state and that she was leaving. She claims Reilly replied, "You're not going anywhere," before dragging her upstairs to the bedroom and locking her inside. She was able to call police from a cell phone.

Reilly was held on $10,000 cash bail after his arrest.
