NEWBURYPORT, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – While most Plum Island residences are weathering the tides, a Barker Street home is dealing with the aftermath of a two-alarm fire that occurred Friday night.
Firefighters responded to 17 Barker Street, at the far end of Plum Island, around 8:15 p.m. for a second-alarm structure fire. Crews reportedly had to cut through the roof in order to access some of the fire.
The fire was extinguished at 9 p.m.
It is uncertain whether or not anyone was inside the home, but there are no reports of any injuries from the scene.
