BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Construction on the Mass. Pike inside the Prudential tunnel caused backups for miles all weekend, and the headaches for drivers might not be over just yet.
A two-mile stretch of I-90 will be reduced to one lane to allow crews to work on removing ceiling panels from the tunnel. The construction is causing several closures of different stretches along the Pike, and the Mass. Department of Transportation has announced a number of weeknight on-ramp closures continuing through Thursday.
On the westbound side, The Arlington and Clarendon street on-ramps will be closed until Monday morning.
The ramp from South Boston's Seaport District to the Pike westbound will be closed Monday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday, and again on Thursday from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday.
Both Route 135 eastbound and westbound over I-95 will be closed Monday from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday.
On Wednesday, the left lane of the connector tunnel westbound will be closed from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday, and again Thursday night from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday.
The Copley ramp from the Boston Public Library to the Pike westbound will close Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday.
Also on Thursday, the ramp from the Pike's westbound connector tunnel at the HOV exit ramp to South Station will close at 11:59 p.m. and reopen at 5 a.m. Friday.
