Pediatric doctor from Andover indicted on child pornography charges

ANDOVER (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A 56-year-old pediatric doctor from Andover was indicted by a grand jury on child pornography charges on Tuesday.

Keller was indicted on two counts of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

Dr. Richard Keller was arrested in September 2012 after being accused of buying more than 50 films depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct online. During a search of his home, police claim to have found over 500 photographs and between 60 and 100 DVDs.

Keller was placed on administrative leave at Boston Children's Hospital where he worked as a  pediatric endocrinologist after his arrest. He has also worked as a pediatrics instructor at Harvard Medical School.

Keller was the medical director at Phillips Academy for 19 years before stepping down for undisclosed reasons in 2011.
