Pedestrian hit, killed in South End

One person is dead after being hit by a car Monday night, police say.

Boston police were called to Tremont Street in the South End just after 8 p.m. for a report of pedestrian hit by a car.

Police say the man has died of his injuries.

The driver stayed on scene and the accident is under investigation.
