Pedestrian hit by car in Tewksbury

TEWKSBURY (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after getting hit by a car in Tewksbury.
    
Police say the victim was thrown 40 feet before landing on the ground.

Traffic was closed on a portion of Main Street near Salem Road while police investigated.
    
The victim was flown to a local hospital.

No details have been released about the vehicle involved or the driver.
