Pedestrian has died after being hit by car in Saugus

SAUGUS, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car while crossing Route 1 in Saugus Thursday.

At around 9 p.m. Thursday, a man was hit by a car on Route 1, police say. The man was taken to North Shore Medical Center with life threatening injuries and later pronounced dead.

The accident shut down the left lane of the highway.
