Patriots shake loss to 49ers, focus on Jaguars

FOXBOROUGH (AP) - The New England Patriots aren't dwelling on their terrible first half against the San Francisco 49ers.

After losing 41-34 to one of the NFL's best teams, they're now preparing for one of the worst. The Patriots visit Jacksonville Sunday.

Sunday's loss dropped the Patriots (10-4) from second to third in the AFC behind Denver (11-3) and Houston (12-2), and their chances of earning a first-round bye took a hit. The Broncos close against Cleveland (5-9) and Kansas City (2-12). Houston finishes against Minnesota (8-6) and Indianapolis (9-5).

Patriots coach Bill Belichick said Monday this will be a typical week. The Patriots will review the loss to the 49ers then get ready for the Jaguars (2-12). The Patriots finish the regular season against Miami (6-8).
