FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- The New England Patriots took a moment before their first home preseason game of the year to remember slain MIT police officer Sean Collier.
Players and fans observed a moment of silence prior to kickoff Friday night.
Collier was fatally shot while sitting inside his cruiser in Cambridge on April 19.
Investigators allege accused Boston Marathon bombing mastermind Tamerlan Tsarnaev admitted to killing Collier while carjacking a Cambridge resident. Tsarnaev was later killed following a shootout with police after he was hit by a car driven by his younger brother, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The younger Tsarnaev remains in custody of the U.S. Marshals as he awaits his trial.
