Parts of 93 South closed Thursday night into Friday morning

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – Interstate 93 South was closed starting at 11 p.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. Friday due to preparations for the closure of the Callahan Tunnel.

The highway was closed to allow workers to make their way into the city via 93 for the Friday morning commute.

Crews put up detour signs during the closure for travelers. Traffic was be detoured off the highway at Exit 28 in Somerville. Drivers were be able to enter 93 South at the Haymarket on-ramp. Those headed to the airport should follow posted detour signs via 93 South Exit 18 and the Ted Williams Tunnel.
