Parrot Heads warned about 'tent toilets' ahead of Jimmy Buffett show

MANSFIELD, Mass. — With Jimmy Buffett’s annual trip to the Xfinity Center, Mansfield police are reminding Parrot Heads about the importance of proper bathroom etiquette.

The parking lots open at 11 a.m. for tailgating, but with nine hours before Buffett takes the stage, there is a history of people using makeshift latrines in the parking lot.

“We want to get the word out early this year that the "tent toilets" will not be permitted (or tolerated). We know, we know....no one likes to poo in a Porta-Loo, but think of it as an experience to build character,” the Mansfield Police Department posted on Facebook.

The post includes pictures of homemade toilets left behind after last year's show, most aren't more than a 5-gallon bucket with some sort of seat on top. In one of the more creative examples, tailgaters use an old box to provide some privacy.
