FOXBOROUGH (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – The recently enacted bylaw in
Foxborough that bans residents from parking vehicles on their property for a
fee during major events faces its first real test on Sunday during the New
England Patriots first home game.
According to the Foxborough Patch, the parking ban which was put into
place to reduce traffic and congestion was enacted for the
first time on Aug. 24 and 25 for the New England Country Music Festival at
Gillette Stadium. Police said there were no violations during the two-day
festival which brought approximately 100,000 people to the area.
Property owners found in violation of the parking ban on Sunday and for the
rest of the season will be fined $100 for each car they
charge to park.
The Patriots game against the Arizona Cardinals kicks off at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Parking
lots open for game day at 9 a.m., and Gillette Stadium's gates open at 11 a.m.
for admission to the game.
