Pair found guilty on charges in 'Snapchat rape' trial

BOSTON — Rashad Deihim and Kailyn Bonia were found guilty Tuesday on charges they raped a 16-year-old girl behind a Saugus elementary school.

The pair faced assault, attempted rape and kidnapping charges.

A local teenager who called police after seeing a sexual assault on Snapchat testified in a Salem Courtroom last week to what she saw.

The teen, Sydnee Enos, said she saw Rashad Deihim and Kaiyln Bonia trying to rape a friend on videos posted to Snapchat.

A third suspect, Timothy Cyckowski, was behind a cell phone camera at the time, allegedly laughing.

The judge ruled in court Thursday that Snapchat video recovered from the company cannot be used in the trial.

Deihim was found guilty of assault with intent to rape, four counts of indecent assault and battery, kidnapping and posing a child in a state of nudity.

Bonia was found guilty of two counts of assault with intent to rape, four counts of indecent assault and battery and one count of kidnapping. She was found not guilty of posing a child in a state of nudity.
