• Oliver Ames mourning loss of wrestling captain

EASTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) The senior captain of the Oliver Ames High School wrestling team died unexpectedly on Friday.

School officials tell FOX 25 Devin Ness passed away at about 9:30 a.m. from an aneurysm. Devin's father says Devin began complaining about a bad headache on Thursday night. The teenager lost consciousness and was rushed to the hospital where died.

Principal Wes Paul gathered O.A. students on Friday morning to tell them the news. He says Devin's death was not related to wrestling. It was strictly a medical condition.

The principal describes Devin as a teen who was friends with everyone. His coach described him as one of the best kids he ever coached.

One classmate told FOX 25 that students at the high school walked the halls in silence on Friday, many of them stopping to express their condolences to members of the wrestling team.

The school cafeteria will be open on Saturday morning for students seeking grief counseling.
