ISPWICH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – School officials in Ipswich say a student reported a gun had been brought into the school, but later admitted to making the story up.
A shelter in place order was issued at Ipswich High School Friday morning after the student said a middle school student had brought a gun into the building two weeks ago. School officials said the student that made the claim later confessed they had made it up.
Ipswich Police, as well as the Essex County District Attorney's office, were investigating.
School officials said the student would be disciplined.
