HERMON, Maine — A Maine man and his 10-year-old son died in a snowmobile crash over the weekend, and police say speed and alcohol are factors.

The Maine Warden Service said Jason Tracy, 33, of Hermon, and his unidentified 10-year-old son were killed when the snowmobile they were riding slammed into a tree on the edge of a field early Sunday morning.

Officials said speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the crash, and it remains under investigation.

This was the third fatal snowmobile crash in Maine reported over the weekend.
