Officer who shot and killed NH man identified

CLAREMONT, N.H. — The officer who shot and killed a man in New Hampshire has been identified by the stat's attorney general.

Corporal Ian Kibbe was the responding officer on Sept. 25 who shot and killed Cody LaFont, according to New Hampshire's attorney general.

The two-and-a-half year member of the Claremont Police Department was the only officer present at the time of the shooting and police say there was no recording device that captured the incident.

An investigation is underway into the what happened and the conclusion will be released in the coming weeks, police say.
