Off-duty NH police officer accused of driving while intoxicated

SALEM, NH (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A 44-year-old police officer from New Hampshire is accused of driving while intoxicated after being involved in a car accident.

Police in Salem, NH responded to 190 Millville Street just before 1:30 p.m. on Monday on reports of a single-car accident. They found the driver, Kristin L. Fili, sitting on the back stairs of the home. Fili sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Lawrence General Hospital for treatment.

During an investigation, police claim they detected signs of impairment. Fili was charged for driving while intoxicated as a result.

Fili, who is a 14-year veteran of the Salem Police Department, was off duty at the time of the accident. She is on paid administrative leave as an investigation continues. She will be arraigned on Sept. 17.
